Bikaner: a city in the desert

P1030634
Bikaner is a city where we have spotted countless camels, but not any tourists. Not much unlike Ahmedabad, it seemed like it was a very industrialized city, with a lot of office buildings and trailer cars. The hotels were also expensive, and it did not help to barter with the people as no one understood much English. Luckily, we had taken a Hindi course before we got there, which made it possible for us to understand the numbers they were saying to us, and nod or shake our head to express if it was a reasonable price or not. After just one night spent there, we checked out of our hotel and were sitting at the trainstation waiting for the night train to take us to Jaipur.
