Soft Start in Sydney

Arriving Sydney at 5am in the morning I had many hours to kill before even being able to check into my hostel, so I grabbed my longboard to explore the city. A twenty kilometer ride later I had done the whole bike route called the Foreshore Loop, going through quite different suburban areas of Sydney; the harbour front with the opera house, Balmain with its small houses and cafes, the industrial area of Rozelle and downtown Sydney. A trip that comes highly recommended!
Traveling on my own it was good to stay in a hostel having free dinner and activities in the evenings (WakeUp) to gather its guests. After some free goon people got to know each other and we ended up going out to the nearby student pub Sidebar and a three story club called Ivy that even had a pool on top where guests were swimming around with their drinks.
On Wednesdays the hostel have a free walking tour going from Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach that I went on, which was great to get an overview of the beaches. Although it being winter here in August it was 20 degrees in the air and quite tempting to jump into the ocean for a swim. Going up 3000 kilometer to Cairns the next days it will also just get hotter and hotter!
